Paige Thompson Cutchin
Paige Thompson Cutchin, 39, of Roanoke Rapids died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Paige was the daughter of James William Thompson III and the late Matti Phillips Thompson. She was a graduate of NC State University and Peace College in Raleigh. Paige was an Instructor at Halifax Community College in Weldon. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids. Paige was very active in many local organizations. Her most beloved role was being a wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence McGilbra "Gil" Cutchin, Jr.; her daughter, Matti Margaret Cutchin; her son, James McGilbra Cutchin; her father, James William Thompson, III of Otway; three sisters, Brooke Thompson of Beaufort, Shannon Thompson Conley and her husband, Hayes, of Greenville, and Courtney James Thompson and her husband, Bo Trammell, of Bat Cave; her mothers-in-law, Margaret Louise Johnston of Weldon, and Janice Atkinson Cutchin of Tarboro; her fathers-in-law, Lawrence McGilbra Cutchin, MD, of Tarboro and Bill Johnston of Jackson; her sisters-in-law, Louise Cutchin Kelly of Peachtree City, GA, and Dr. Martha Johnston Chesnutt and her husband, Stephen, of Rocky Mount; her brothers-in-law, William Ransom Johnston, Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Raleigh and Carl Thomas Hicks III and his wife, Gail, of Indian Harbour Beach, FL; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Ave. Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Friday, August 27, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 Saturday, August 28, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Dr. Marjorie H. Holm, Rev. Duncan Jones and Rev. Beverly Huck officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UNC Chapel Hill Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, 450 West Dr., Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7295.
